Why do I need to provide my ID and how long is my ID stored?

We strictly require ID for the removal of sold house price images and full removals (removal of the price paid record) to prevent someone unauthorised from requesting deletion of your data. We ask for the following documents to show valid proof of you owning the property listed on Rightmove, without these documents we can’t process the request. 


Please provide one of the following documents to show valid proof of you owning the property listed on Rightmove. This will need to show the owner's name together with the address of the property of the sold price record: 

  • Title Register  
  • Title Deeds 
  • Formal written correspondence with your solicitor which shows the property was/is owned by you  


We also require one form of ID from the owner. Please note that this must match the name given on the proof of address document: 

  • Driving License
  • Passport

The ID@rightmove.co.uk mailbox is only accessible to select data protection trained employees at Rightmove. It has a retention policy of 7 days, when an email has been held for this long it is automatically deleted, however we will always endeavour to delete this sooner once we have validated proof of ownership. Any data sent to this address is kept in the secure mailbox and at no point is it sent elsewhere.
