Track My Property - Incorrect Tenure Type

The tenure type shown for your property in Track My Property tells you how the property is legally owned. For example, your property may be shown as freehold or leasehold.

Why is the tenure type for my property incorrect?

If you think the tenure displayed for your property is incorrect, there are a few things you can check before getting in touch with us.

Check your property with HM Land Registry

The first step is to check the tenure information held for your property by HM Land Registry.

Make sure you're checking the correct property and address, then compare the tenure shown by HM Land Registry with the information displayed in Track My Property.

The information matches HM Land Registry

If the tenure shown in Track My Property matches the information held by HM Land Registry, but you believe the tenure itself is incorrect, you'll need to contact HM Land Registry directly.

Rightmove isn't able to amend the information held within Land Registry records, so any corrections to the source information will need to be raised with them directly.

The information doesn't match HM Land Registry

If you've checked HM Land Registry and the tenure shown there is different from the tenure shown in Track My Property, please get in touch with us.

When contacting us, let us know the property address and that you've already checked the tenure against the Land Registry record. We'll then be able to investigate why the information shown in Track My Property doesn't match.

Before contacting us

To help us investigate, please check:

  • You're looking at the correct property and address in Track My Property.
  • You've compared the tenure against the corresponding HM Land Registry record.
  • Whether the Land Registry record shows the same or a different tenure from Track My Property.

If the two don't match, email our Customer Experience team and we can look into this further for you.

What information do I need to provide?

When contacting us, please tell us:

  • Your full property address
